Guided tour of Chanac
A personalized tour
One morning a week in summer, from 10am to 11:30am, we form a group ofaround ten people and set off together on an adventure through the village of Chanac. Each visit is unique, and each person has different expectations. Some prefer to linger over the architectural elements, while others prefer the natural areas , or still others come just to learn more about Chanac as a whole and enjoy a pleasant stroll through town. It’s a visit at everyone’s pace, and I adapt to their needs and desires.
Guided tour of Chanac
A complete tour of the village …
You may tell me that with the Chanac map, tour and brief explanations of the village’s heritage, you can visit the village on your own … to which I would reply that I hold the key to the church and the tower (which are heritage features not usually open to the public), and so the guided tour becomes a privileged moment! Indeed, guided tours are the only opportunity to visit both themedieval tower and the Chanac church at the same time.

Don’t miss this tour of the Tower!
The tour begins at theTouristOffice reception deskand heads off in the direction of the church. This is followed by a somewhat athletic climb up rue du Planaguet, during which we discover some of the village‘s streets, their history and their tourist attractions. Once at the top of Chanac, after talking about the village through the ages and taking in the cultural and natural heritage of the town and its surroundings, it’s time for the moment everyone has been waiting for: the ascent of the tower to admire the 360-degree panorama of the Lot Valley. The steep climb up the four narrow flights of stairs to the top of the ancient keep is rewarded with a breathtaking view.
It’s the place where visitors take their traditional photos; a time for me to talk about the environment that surrounds us, the nature we enjoy and the attractiveness of our region.
