La Tieule

Discover La Tieule, a village in the heart of the Causse de Sauveterre.

La Tieule

Caussenarde architecture and farms

With its farm and stables, La Tieule welcomes tourists and hikers. Having long belonged to the commune of Banassac, the village has been independent since June 1842. Particularly well-preserved from the ravages of time, the village of La Tieule and its hamlets will charm you with their typical Caussenarde architecture. These picturesque dry-stone farmhouses are less populated than they used to be, but are now more accessible. You’ll also discover many elements of small-scale Caussen heritage.

La Tieule

Close to the A75

The village of La T ieule, less than 5 minutes from the freeway, is a place of unparalleled tranquillity. Come and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere by staying in one of the many accommodations in the area.

As is often the case, religion has left its mark here: the present-day Ecuries de Sauveterre in La Tieule was called a “monastery” because it was here that Canon Pierre Ladet was born and later welcomed numerous members of the clergy. Despite this, the typical and endearing Caussenarde architecture has always revolved around sheep farming, here as everywhere on the Sauveterre.
