Actions are regularly carried out to assess the state of their biodiversity and raise public awareness of the need to preserve these habitats, which are home to exceptional flora and fauna.

Habitats and protected species

There are 10 habitats of interest in the Vallon de l’Urugne area (dry grasslands, limestone, petrifying springs at Roquaizou, etc.), as well as 8 species (including several bat species).

From animal to flower

The main aims of the measures taken in these areas are to preserve the bocage landscapes, with hedgerows used for bird breeding and as hunting grounds for bats; and to preserve orchid lawns threatened by overgrowth and soil enrichment.
