The must-try dishes

Whether on the Aubrac, in the Gorges du Tarn, on the Causses or in the Lot Valley, you’ll find plenty of gourmet dishes to delight your palate…

The must-try dishes of the territory

Our region is rich in local products: cheeses, meat and fish, local flours and breads, mushrooms, truffles, blueberries, ice creams, local beers and wines… All harvested or produced in the heart of our destination for quality and flavor.

#1

The cheeses

From Aubrac to the Gorges du Tarn Being a very rural territory in the heart of the Lozère department, numerous Lacaune ewe, cow and goat farms are to be found on the Grands Causses, Aubrac or in the Lot Valley. Many ewe breeders produce milk for Salakis and Roquefort, while others produce milk for their own use, just as they do for dairy cows and goats.

Ewes, cows and goats are just some of the cheeses you’ll find on our territory.

#2

Meat and fish

Don’t miss out on Aubrac beef and charcuterie when you’re in the area! As well as the delicious trout of the Lot Valley.

#3

Farmhouse chocolates, confectionery and ice cream

Indulge yourself with delicacies made locally by passionate artisans: chocolates, nougats, honeys, jams, cookies, candies, marshmallows, farmhouse ice creams… You can buy them direct from the artisans or from local retailers.

#4

The beverages

Alcoholic and non-alcoholicbeverages, their raw materials are 100% local. Nothing goes better with traditional cuisine than a good wine from the Gorges du Tarn, or artisanal beers and lemonades.

#5

Local flours and breads

A recently restored mill on the Causse Méjean produces quality flours that reflect the flavors of local farming. Many local bakers use this local flour to make quality breads.

#6

Mushrooms

As soon as autumn dawns, mushrooms appear by the thousands: ceps on the Aubrac, oreillettes, girolles, morels, lactaires on the Causse… there’s no doubt that Lozère is mushroom country! But beware: mushroom picking is regulated…

#7

Blueberries

A sweet and healthy fruit, pick your own wild blueberries in Aubrac. In the Aubrac’s summer undergrowth, you’re sure to find wild blueberries ready to pick.

#8
