Swimming in the Gorges du Tarn
There are numerous swimming spots in the Gorges du Tarn: every village and hamlet has its own beach. Find the place that suits you best: the depth, current and scenery change from place to place.
You can also enjoy a little piece of paradise by canoeing, kayaking or stand-up paddling down the Tarn, stopping off at beaches that are only accessible by water. You’ll be alone in the world to appreciate this extraordinary setting.
Finally, take advantage of the private beaches of the many campsites and accommodation along the river.
WARNING!
Swimming is not supervised!
THE LITTLE EXTRA!
Lac de la Cisba and Lac du Moulinet have a supervised swimming area in season, for optimum safety.

Swimming in the lakes
In Lozère and Aveyron, there are several lakes where you can relax by the water.
Lac de la Cisba at Lapanouse, near Sévérac-le-Château, is open to the public all year round. In summer, the lake offers a wide range of activities, including introductory canoeing and stand-up paddling, concerts on the beach and fireworks displays…
Between Aubrac and Margeride, there’s also Lac du Moulinet, where you can enjoy a wide range of water sports: pedal-boating, stand-up paddling…
Worth knowing: the Route des Lacs d’Aubrac, as its name suggests, allows you to discover the lakes of Aubrac. However, it is not possible to swim in any of them (with the exception of Lac du Moulinet).
