From Aubrac to the Gorges du Tarn

In addition to the many trail circuits on our Causses et Gorges trail area, numerous trail events take place here all year round: les foulées de Canilhac, Tarn Valley Trail, Lozère Trail, trail de la Tieule, l’enfer de Roqueprins… And don’t miss the challenge trail de l’Aubrac aux Gorges du Tarn, organized every year on our 100% trail territory.

Les foulées de Canilhac on March 17

This trail race takes place in mid-March, starting from the village of Banassac and heading towards the village of Canilhac and the ruins of its castle, former seat of one of the eight baronies of Gévaudan. A 14 km route (in 2024) to discover Canilhac and the surrounding area. This is the first race to be entered in the challenge trail de l’Aubrac aux Gorges du Tarn, the aim of which is to take part in at least 3 of the following 4 races: les foulées de Canilhac, Lozère Trail, Le Lozère Trail, on May 18 and 19 (12 or 27 km), Le Trail de la Tieule on June 30 (13 or 21 km) and L’Enfer de Roqueprins, on August 23. Awards ceremony for the top finishers on the day of L’Enfer de Roqueprins.

Tarn Valley Trail, May 4 and 5

The Tarn Valley Trail, a not-to-be-missed race between the sources, gorges and valley of the Tarn, brings together 4 races over two days:

  • the 153km Tarn Valley Trail from the source of the Tarn to Millau, following the GR736 Gorges et Vallée du Tarn, crossing the entire Tarn Gorges.
  • l’intégrale des Gorges du Tarn, 100 kilometers fromIspagnac to Millau to discover the famous canyon.
  • the Gorges du Tarn marathon trail, 43 kilometers from the typical Causse village of Saint-Rome-de-Dolan, above the Vignes on the Causse de Sauveterre to Millau. (in the heart of our destination)
  • the single-track, 17 kilometers through the picturesque Vallée du Tarn, from Millau to Saint-Georges-de-Luzençon.

Trail de la Tieule, June 30

Discover the Trail de la Tieule at the end of June, starting from La Tieule, a small Causse village. A 100% caussenard trail, among boxwood, pine trees and fields: calm and fresh air guaranteed! Two routes on offer: 13 or 21 km…

This race is part of the trail challenge from Aubrac to the Gorges du Tarn.

The Lozère Trail, a must: May 18 and 19

The Lozère Trail is THE trail race not to be missed in Lozère. There are 5 events to suit the tastes and expectations of trail runners: the Ultra Lozère 110 km in 2 stages, the 52 km or 27 km, the 12km and the big news since 2022: the Skyrace des Gorges du Tarn 24 km! Children’s hikes and races are also available during this very sporty Whitsun weekend.

The Salta Bartas club, based at Chanac in the heart of the Lozère region, offers a wonderful getaway to discover a region of incredible landscapes. On the program: technical trails, varied landscapes, a change of scenery… and above all, a challenge to surpass yourself!

The 12 and 27 km trails are part of the Aubrac to Gorges du Tarn trail challenge.

L’enfer de Roqueprins: August 23

Let’s finish on a high note with L’enfer de Roqueprins: starting from the picturesque village of La Canourgue. A short but intense run with 340 m of ascent from the start to the Roqueprins viewpoint. Want to outdo yourself? Come and defy this frenzied climb
