Your trail weekend

in detail...

LES VIGNES

  • Arriving mid-afternoon at the village of Les Vignes, enjoy a moment of idleness by the water.
  • You can also take part in a treasure hunt / geocaching to discover the village, and take a walk to the Grotte de l’Hironcel using the map provided by your accommodation provider.
  • The village des Vignes is a perfect blend of nature and culture, with a lake where you can rent a canoe or paddle, and a wine tour of the Domaine Entre Deux Terres at Le Villaret, 1.5 km away, led by winemaker Frédéric Guilhem.
  • Settle into your accommodation. Catering based on local produce will delight your taste buds before a good night’s sleep in a comfortable room!

ESPACE TRAIL CAUSSES ET GORGES

Around the Vines
  • Once you’ve had a good breakfast and collected your picnic basket, you’re ready for a departure close to your accommodation.
  • Our experts recommend these 2 circuits, which allow you to experience the Causse Méjean in varying degrees of intensity, while enjoying the sumptuous scenery it offers over the Gorges du Tarn and the Causse de Sauveterre:
  • Route n°21, La Caxe Trail, 11.5 km, 530 D+, 1h25 – 2h50,
  • Route n°22, Corniches Côté Méjean, 23.7 km, 860 D+, 2h40 – 5h20

Good to know: 22 is in the shape of an 8, the first loop of which is circuit n°21.

  • Then take your vehicle to Le Rozier, 11km away.
  • After settling into your hotel, escape to Peyreleau, Petite Cité de Caractère on the other side of the bridge. Enjoy the charm of the village, with its winding lanes, calades, beautiful homes and view of Le Triadou.
  • Dinner at the hotel.

ESPACE TRAIL GRANDS CAUSSES

Around Le Rozier
  • After breakfast, pack a picnic lunch in your rucksack, lace up your shoes and set off for a 2nd day of trail riding from the hotel.
  • Our local experts recommend these 2 circuits, between forest crossings and the vertiginous slopes of the emblematic Jonte Gorges:
  • Route n°16, Les Balcons du Vertige, 12 km, 600 D+, 2h15
This is THE loop par excellence! Climb to the Capluc rock, before skirting the Vases de Sèvres and Vases de Chine. An overhanging path, a cave passage, a technical wooded section and a steep descent punctuate the route (beware of dizziness).
  • Circuit n°10, Peyreleau La Jonte, 10 km, 648 D+, 1h15
Opening cornice trail, “prehistoric mushroom” slope: linear panoramas! The positive gradient towards the piton de l’ermitage Saint-Michel and the corniches require a high degree of technical skill. Be careful when setting foot on roots.

Good to know: n°10 is a loop in n°11. If circuit 10 is too short for you, you can opt for n°11.

Your weekend is over, and you’re ready for your next race!
