Near the Col de Bonnecombe is a lesser-known waterfall than the Cascade du Déroc, but just as charming, if a little more modest: the Cascade du Saltou. This pretty waterfall is located on the ruisseau du Pesquio, and can be reached on foot via a path beside the road leading from the Col de Bonnecombe to Les Hermaux.

The hidden waterfall
The Cascade du Saltou is formed by a stream that starts at the Col de Bonnecombe and then forms a waterfall tumbling down remarkable basalt organs.
The setting is made all the more picturesque by the fact that the waterfall is completely invisible from the surrounding area, and you have to be at its foot to enjoy the spectacle.
- How do I get to the Cascade du Saltou?
Take the Lou Saltou hike from Col de Bonnecombe (15.5 km), or from Col de Bonnecombe, take the road leading to Les Hermaux and take the path on the right, signposted “Cascade du Saltou”. Follow the path, then turn right in the grass towards the waterfall.
