The Lot Valley

Invigorating and dynamic

The Lot Valley in Lozère, nestled between the Aubrac and Causses mountains, is a lush, fertile region thanks to the Lot River. The river rises on the northern slopes of Mont Lozère and flows into the Garonne several hundred kilometers further on. It has facilitated human settlement for millennia: not for nothing is Mende, the Lozère “capital”, in its wake, and the charming villages of La Canourgue, the little Venice of Lozère, and Chanac, making this part of Lozère the most densely populated.
